Why the first day after matters

An RF Face and Neck Facial warms the deeper layers of the skin with radio-frequency energy, then finishes with a 24K gold and black caviar mask. When you leave our spa in Hulen Mall, your skin is usually warm, a little pink, and very soft. The 24 hours that follow are about letting it settle. Good aftercare will not change what the facial does, but it may keep your skin comfortable and help you avoid irritation that has nothing to do with the facial itself.

Most of what we ask is simple. Keep your skin hydrated, keep it out of strong sun, give your stronger products a short break, and avoid adding more heat for the rest of the day. The sections below walk through each of these, explain why we ask, and tell you what is normal and what is not. If you have not had the facial yet, you can read what it involves on our non-surgical face lift page.

Hydration, inside and out

Radio-frequency warmth can leave the skin feeling slightly dry for a day. We recommend a plain, fragrance-free moisturizer that evening and again the next morning. Apply it generously. A simple hyaluronic acid serum underneath is fine if you already use one. This is not the day to try a new product, so stick with something your skin already knows.

Drink water through the afternoon and evening. We do not claim that water changes your result. Many people find their skin feels more comfortable the next day when they stay well hydrated. Results vary. If you can, leave the skin bare for a few hours after your visit. If you need to wear makeup, a light mineral powder is a gentler choice than a heavy foundation.

Sun protection for the week after

Warmed skin may be a little more reactive to sun for a day or two. We ask every client to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher on the face and neck for at least a week after the facial, and ideally every day. The neck matters as much as the face here, since the handpiece covers both. The Fort Worth sun rarely takes a break, so a hat helps on the walk from the parking lot.

Reapply if you are outside for more than two hours. Skip tanning beds entirely while you are in a series. We cannot tell you that sunscreen will make the facial work better. We can tell you that unprotected sun may undo the look of smoother skin sooner than you would like.

Give your actives a short break

For 24 hours after the facial, set aside retinol and other retinoids, glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acid products, high-strength vitamin C, physical scrubs, and any at-home device that uses heat, light, or microcurrent. These products are useful on an ordinary day. On warmed skin they are more likely to sting or cause pinkness that lingers. If your skin runs sensitive, wait 48 hours.

When you bring them back, start with your gentlest one and add the rest over a few days. If a product that normally feels fine suddenly stings, stop and give it another day. Nothing about the facial requires you to abandon your routine. It simply asks for a brief pause.

Exercise, heat, and the rest of the day

Your skin has already been gently warmed from below, so we ask you not to add more heat on the day of your visit. That means no hot yoga, no sauna or steam room, no very hot showers, and no long, intense workouts until the next morning. A walk is fine. A hot bath is not. If you have booked our infrared capsule or the red-light bed, we suggest scheduling it on a different day from an RF facial rather than stacking them.

Some clients find that alcohol the same evening brings back flushing for an hour or two. If you want to avoid a pink face at dinner, water is the better choice that night. Sleeping with your head slightly raised on an extra pillow may also reduce any mild puffiness by morning. Results vary, and none of these steps are required. They are simply what our clients tend to find comfortable.

What is normal, and when to call us

Mild pinkness and warmth are expected. For most clients they fade within a few hours, and usually by the next morning. A faint tightness, a bit of extra softness from the mask, and a slight sheen are also normal. Some clients notice very mild puffiness along the jaw or under the eyes for a day. None of this needs attention.

What we do want to hear about is redness or swelling that has not improved after 48 hours, any blistering or broken skin, hives, pain rather than warmth, or a rash that spreads. These are uncommon, and they may have a cause unrelated to the facial, but we would rather know. Call us at (214) 447-7748 or email [email protected], and please also contact your physician if anything feels wrong. If a reaction appears around an area you already have concerns about, such as rosacea or an active breakout, a dermatologist is the right first step before your next session.

These are cosmetic services, not medical care. Talk to your physician before booking if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted device, have cold urticaria, have an active skin infection, or have had recent surgery in the face or neck.

Planning the next session in your series

A single RF facial may give a brief, subtle firmness. The look most clients are hoping for tends to build over a series, though results vary. A typical starting point is four to six sessions, spaced one to two weeks apart, followed by a maintenance visit every one to two months if you like what you see. Spacing matters. Closer than a week may not give the skin time to settle, and longer than a month between early sessions can make it harder to tell what is working.

Before you leave, we suggest booking your next visit while the dates are fresh. Our RF Face and Neck Facial is $250 for 60 minutes, and you can see every current price on our pricing page. Take a plain photo of your face and neck in the same light every week or two. It is the most honest way to judge a gradual change. Many clients notice a more defined jawline and a smoother neck by the midpoint of a series, though results vary with age, sun history, and how consistently you return. Please remember our 24-hour cancellation notice if your plans change.

Questions about this guide

Can I wash my face the night of the facial?

Yes. Use lukewarm water and a gentle, non-foaming cleanser, then moisturize. Skip scrubs, cleansing brushes, and hot water for the first day.

Can I wear makeup after an RF facial?

We suggest leaving the skin bare for a few hours if you can. After that, a light mineral makeup is fine. Remove it gently that evening and moisturize well.

How soon can I book another session?

A typical starting point is one to two weeks between sessions during a series. If your skin still looks pink or feels sensitive, give it a few more days. Results vary, and we are glad to help you pick a date at the front desk.
