Acne Facial: what it is and who it’s for

Our acne facial is built for blemish-prone skin. It starts with a deep-cleansing Express Facial, and a fuller session adds blue LED light at 415 nm, the wavelength commonly used for blemish-prone skin. A cooling step can be added to calm skin that looks red or feels warm. Sessions run from 30 to 60 minutes.

It suits teens and adults with oily, congested or breakout-prone skin who want a professional cleanse and a gentle routine with no downtime. It does not replace a dermatologist, and painful, cystic or persistent acne needs medical care. Results are gradual and vary from person to person, so a series of sessions is recommended.

The blue-light step uses the Sapphire X, an FDA-cleared Class II device that emits blue light at 415 nm; the clearance relates to the device, not to a particular cosmetic result. A trained skincare specialist cleanses your skin, checks for anything that should be left alone, and sets up every session at our Hulen Mall spa. You can start with the $125 Express Facial and build from there.

Acne Facial benefits

A thorough deep cleanse

The Express Facial clears away oil, makeup and buildup so skin feels fresh and balanced.

Blue light at 415 nm

The Sapphire X delivers the blue wavelength commonly used for blemish-prone skin.

Calmer-looking skin

An optional cooling step soothes skin that looks red or feels warm around breakouts.

No downtime

No peeling and no recovery, so you can go back to school or work the same day.

How a deep cleanse and blue light work together

Breakouts tend to start in pores where oil, dead skin cells and bacteria build up. A professional cleanse removes surface oil and buildup and leaves pores looking less congested. Blue light at 415 nm reaches the upper layers of the skin, and research has looked at how this wavelength interacts with the bacteria associated with breakouts, which is why it is widely used for blemish-prone skin.

Results are gradual, temporary and vary from person to person. People who see an improvement typically notice it over a series of sessions, and keeping it depends on a consistent home routine. Our acne facial is a cosmetic treatment for blemish-prone skin. It is not intended to diagnose or treat acne or any other skin condition, and it does not replace care from a dermatologist.

What to expect during your acne facial

  1. Before

Tell us about any prescription skin care, such as retinoids or acne medication, and about epilepsy, light sensitivity or pregnancy. Avoid picking or squeezing breakouts before your visit. Your specialist looks at your skin, explains what the session will include, and starts with a deep cleanse to clear away oil, makeup and buildup.

  2. During

The Express Facial takes about 30 minutes and leaves skin clean and hydrated. In a 60-minute session, you then rest under blue LED light with eye protection; it feels gently warm and quiet. If your skin looks red or warm, a cooling step can be added at the end to calm it before you leave.

  3. After

There is no downtime. Skin may look slightly flushed for a short while before it settles. Use a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer and sunscreen, keep your hands off your face, and skip harsh scrubs for a day or two. Book your next session one to two weeks later so the series stays consistent.

Acne facials for teens and adults

Breakouts are not only a teenage concern: many adults see them around the jaw and chin. The approach is the same at any age: a careful deep cleanse, blue light for blemish-prone skin and a simple, consistent home routine. If you are using prescription acne treatment, ask your dermatologist before booking any facial.

What an acne facial cannot do

A spa facial can help skin feel cleaner and look calmer, but it is not a medical acne treatment. It will not shrink cysts, stop hormonal breakouts or remove acne scars, which are better handled by a dermatologist. Being clear about this helps you choose the right care and get the most from your sessions with us.

Good to know before you book

  • Not a substitute for a dermatologist: see one for painful, cystic or persistent acne, or if you take prescription acne medication.
  • Blue light is not recommended with epilepsy, light sensitivity or medication that makes skin sensitive to light, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • We never work over open lesions or an active skin infection; those areas are left alone.
  • Tell us about recent peels, fillers or Botox before your session.
  • Results are gradual, temporary and vary from person to person; a series of sessions is recommended.

Please tell us before you book if any of these apply to you:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Pacemaker or metal implants
  • Epilepsy or light sensitivity (light therapies)
  • Cold urticaria or Raynaud’s (cold therapies)
  • Recent fillers, Botox or surgery
  • Open lesions or active skin infection
  • Lupus, psoriasis or a similar skin condition in the treated area
  • Cancer in the past five years (body treatments)
  • Heart, kidney or liver disease, deep vein thrombosis or varicose veins (body treatments)

Treatments at Vearitea Wellness Spa are cosmetic and wellness services, not medical care, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Results vary from person to person. If you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, cold urticaria, an active skin infection, or have had recent surgery, talk to your physician before booking.

Why Vearitea Wellness Spa

FDA-cleared LED devices

Our LED facials use Perfectio X (red and infrared) and Sapphire X (blue, 415 nm), both FDA-cleared Class II devices, and Elevare (red and infrared, 640–840 nm), also FDA-cleared. Clearance covers the device, not a particular result.

Precise cold at −6 °C

Our cryotherapy applicator is chilled to −6 °C and used in brief, controlled passes: contact cooling, not a nitrogen chamber.

No downtime, open late

Every treatment is non-invasive, with no needles and no downtime. We are open until 8 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, plus Sunday afternoons, with free mall parking.

Acne Facial FAQs

How much does an acne facial cost?

At Vearitea Wellness Spa an acne facial starts at $125 for the 30-minute Express Facial deep cleanse. The full 60-minute session with blue LED light at 415 nm is $250 and includes cleansing and exfoliation. For a series, facial packages start at $550 for two LED facials plus a daily product.

Does blue light help acne?

Blue light at 415 nm is commonly used for blemish-prone skin, and research has looked at how this wavelength interacts with the bacteria associated with breakouts. Many clients see calmer-looking skin over a series of sessions, but results vary and fade without a good routine. Here it is a cosmetic treatment and does not replace care from a dermatologist.

Is an acne facial good for acne-prone skin?

For many people, yes. A professional deep cleanse clears away oil and buildup, and blue light is used for blemish-prone skin, all without harsh scrubbing or downtime. The key is gentle handling, so we never work over open lesions or infected skin. If your breakouts are painful, cystic or not improving, see a dermatologist first.

How many acne facials will I need?

A typical starting point is a series of four to six sessions, often one to two weeks apart, then maintenance about once a month; your specialist will tailor the plan. Skin changes slowly, so give the series time before judging the result. Results vary from person to person.

What is the best facial for acne-prone skin?

The best facial is one that cleans thoroughly without irritating the skin. For most blemish-prone skin we suggest a deep-cleansing Express Facial, a blue LED light session at 415 nm, and a cooling step if the skin looks red. Harsh scrubs and aggressive treatments can make breakouts look worse. Your specialist will recommend a plan after seeing your skin.

Can I get an acne facial if I use prescription skin care?

Tell us about every product you use. Some prescription treatments, such as retinoids or oral acne medication, make skin more sensitive, and certain steps may need to wait or be skipped. If you are under a dermatologist’s care, ask them before booking any facial. We would rather adjust the plan than irritate your skin.

Will my skin break out after the facial?

Skin usually feels clean and calm afterwards. A few clients notice a small flare in the first days, especially if their skin was very congested, and it usually settles quickly. Keep your routine gentle, avoid picking, and tell us if anything worries you. Lasting irritation is not normal and is a reason to pause and talk to us.

Does an acne facial hurt?

No. The deep cleanse is gentle, the blue light feels slightly warm, and the optional cooling step feels cold and soothing. There are no needles and no peeling. Skin may look a little flushed for a short while afterwards, and you can return to school or work the same day.

Is an acne facial safe during pregnancy?

Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. LED light is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so we will talk through gentler options with you, such as a simple cleanse. Check with your physician before booking any spa treatment while pregnant, and bring any questions to your first visit.
