Which areas a skin tightening facial covers

When people ask about skin tightening, they usually mean the face. In practice, there are three connected areas worth considering: the face, the neck, and the décolletage, which is the upper chest below the collarbones. All three share the same skin, the same sun exposure, and often the same concerns. Treating one while ignoring the others can leave a visible line where the work stopped.

At our spa, skin tightening is offered two ways. The LED Skin Tightening Facial uses the Perfectio X, which combines red and infrared light, and the Sapphire X, which delivers blue light at 415 nm. Both are FDA-cleared Class II devices. The clearance covers the device itself, not any particular result. The RF Face and Neck Facial uses radio-frequency warmth followed by a 24K gold and black caviar mask. Each is 60 minutes and $250. You can read the full outline on our skin tightening page.

Why the neck is rarely treated alone

The skin on the neck is thinner than the skin on the cheeks. It has fewer oil glands, less support underneath, and it moves constantly. It is also the area most often skipped when sunscreen goes on in the morning. The result is that the neck tends to show crepey texture and horizontal lines before the face does, and the contrast becomes noticeable in photos and in the mirror.

Because the jawline and neck form one visual line, the neck is best considered alongside the lower face. Our RF Face and Neck Facial includes the neck by design. If you would like the neck covered in an LED facial, ask when you book and we will tell you what the session can cover. A smoother jaw above an untreated neck does not look finished. Many clients notice that the overall impression is softer and more even when both areas are treated in the same session, even if the change in each area is modest.

Why the décolletage matters too

The chest is an area people tend to notice only once it starts to bother them. Years of sun, side sleeping, and simple time can leave fine vertical lines and uneven tone between the collarbones. In Texas, where the sun is strong for most of the year, the chest is frequently the area with the most visible sun history.

Whether the décolletage can be included depends on the facial you choose, so ask when you book and we will tell you what the session can cover. Open necklines, sundresses, and evening wear all draw the eye to this area. If the face and neck look refreshed and the chest does not, the difference shows. When all three areas are cared for together, the result tends to look consistent from the hairline to the top of the chest.

How thinner skin is typically treated

Thinner skin needs a lighter hand. On the neck and chest, thinner skin is typically treated with lower intensity and a lighter, continuous motion, so no single spot receives more warmth or light than it should. With radio-frequency, the aim is a comfortable, even warmth rather than heat. With LED, the light is delivered gently and evenly across the area. Your aesthetician will explain how your particular session is set up.

We also pay attention to bony areas. The collarbones, the front of the throat, and the angle of the jaw have very little padding. These points are treated with extra care and without pressure. Your aesthetician will check in with you throughout the session. If anything feels too warm or uncomfortable, say so, and we will adjust right away.

Skin on the neck and chest can also be more reactive. Mild pinkness afterward is common and usually fades within a few hours. We keep the products used in these areas simple and soothing, and we recommend sunscreen on the neck and chest every day, not only on treatment days.

Realistic expectations, area by area

On the face, the most common change clients describe is a firmer, smoother look along the cheeks and jaw. Fine lines may temporarily appear softer, and the skin often looks brighter immediately after the session, especially after the RF facial’s mask. Results vary with age, skin thickness, sun history, and how consistently you return.

On the neck, change tends to be subtler and slower. Crepey texture may look a little smoother and horizontal lines may appear less defined after a series, but the neck rarely responds as visibly as the face. A typical starting point is a series of sessions spaced a couple of weeks apart, then a reassessment. If your main concern is loose skin under the chin or along the neck, a dermatologist or physician is the right first step, since some of that is structural and a facial cannot change it.

On the décolletage, the first thing many clients notice is tone rather than texture. The skin may look more even and less dull. Fine vertical lines may temporarily look softer. Deep creases, sun spots, and skin that has lost a great deal of elasticity respond less, and we will tell you that honestly before you book.

Who tends to be a good fit

Clients who do well with skin tightening facials usually have mild to moderate laxity, want a natural change, and are willing to return on a schedule. They are not looking for a surgical result and do not expect one from a 60-minute visit. If you want the appearance of tighter skin without needles, with little or no downtime for most clients, this is a sensible place to start.

These are cosmetic services, not medical care. Please talk to your physician before booking if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, have cold urticaria, have an active skin infection, or have had recent surgery in the area. If you have rosacea, melasma, eczema, or another skin condition on the face, neck, or chest, see a dermatologist first and bring their guidance with you.

Timing, pricing, and combining areas

Both facials run 60 minutes. Our RF Face and Neck Facial includes the neck by design. If you would like the neck or décolletage included in an LED facial, ask when you book and we will tell you what the session can cover. For a face-focused version where a lifted look is the goal, see our non-surgical face lift page.

Most clients begin with a series rather than a single session. Our Bronze, Silver, and Gold facial packages pair LED facials with daily products for home use and bring the per-facial price to roughly $267 to $275. Our spa is inside Hulen Mall in Fort Worth, with free parking, and Affirm financing is available if you would like to spread the cost of a package.

Questions about this guide

Does a skin tightening facial include the neck?
